The Conservation Company profiles NFF in study for the Packard Foundation

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation funded a major Conservation Company study in which NFF was one of four management support organizations chosen nationally to be profiled. Released in July, "Building the Capacity of Capacity Builders: A Study of Management Support and Field-Building Organizations in The Nonprofit Sector" is comprehensive and contains much insight into the field of capacity-building. The following are excerpts from the study's profile of NFF:
  • For clients, having NFF staff present financial information in clear and useful ways helps to overcome fear or misunderstandings related to financial management and helps an organization focus. Furthermore, several reported that they learn and apply important information for improving their organization for longer-term growth. Also, there is a strong sense that NFF staff are very supportive of their clients and provide them with considerable assistance, as needed.

  • several clients and funders commented, "no one does what NFF does."

The William Penn Foundation sponsored a Conservation Company study earlier this year that also commended the services of the NFF Philadelphia & New Jersey Program. Read the news story.
