New York, NY — September 17, 2009 — The editors of The NonProfit Times have named Clara Miller, Nonprofit Finance Fund President & CEO, to the publication's 12th annual NPT Power and Influence Top 50. This is Ms. Miller's forth consecutive year on the list, which recognizes the nonprofit sector's top executives and thinkers for the impact they have made, and for the innovative plans they are putting in place to evolve the charitable sector. Ms. Miller's accomplishments are being celebrated today at The NPT Power & Influence Top 50 Gala at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
In naming her to the list, The NonProfit Times stated, "Miller's views go in the opposite direction of conventional wisdom and she's generally correct."
Ms. Miller founded and has led Nonprofit Finance Fund for over 25 years. The organization provides loans, capacity building, and strategic financial consulting services, serving both social sector organizations and their funders. A 2007 Fast Company Social Capitalist award-winner, NFF has helped thousands of nonprofit organizations strengthen their financial health and improve their capacity to serve their communities. Ms. Miller is currently a board member of GuideStar, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, Enterprise Community Loan Fund, and is Treasurer of the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation Board. She serves on the Independent Sector's Nonprofit Programs and Practice Committee.
