Last week we heard the very sad news that our former NFF colleague, Liz Nicholson, who was the founding director of our DC office, had passed away after a long battle with a terminal brain disease.

 Many of us who worked with Liz remember her warm smile and caring disposition. She never failed to contribute to conversations with a thoughtful comment and an encouraging word.  As a co-worker she was both relentless in the pursuit of our mission and firm in her commitment to our clients.  She spent countless hours working with nonprofits to help them improve their finances so they could serve the families and communities who counted on them.  She did this faithfully, with unfailing energy and perserverance. The world is a better place because Liz lived and worked in it, and we are saddened that her time was cut so short. We miss her.
